The Scarecrow Invasion is back at the Robbins Hunter Museum on Friday, October 13, telling the stories of Women in the Lead: Then and Now, Near and Far.

Upper Elementary Students from Welsh Hills School are researching and creating the scarecrows that will be featured on the front lawn. They have written biographies on 14 amazing women and will share their stories at a reception on Friday, October 13, at 6pm.

This event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served at the end of the presentations.

Shelli Drumm with Welsh Hills School says, “Besides being so much fun, one reason that this project continues to be a perennial favorite for WHS students, staff, and families is that it aligns so well with the school's mission to "build lifelong learners, independent critical thinkers, creative problem-solvers, and compassionate, responsible individuals who are respectful global citizens. Through their research, students learned how these women have been leaders in a whole host of arenas (science, the arts, sports, government, journalism, and more) and used the information they gathered to write a biographical essay and to create each woman's likeness in scarecrow form. We invite you to come and walk among the scarecrows and learn about some amazing women!”

This is the ninth year the Robbins Hunter Museum has collaborated with Welsh Hills School on this event and we are excited to continue this tradition.
