Katie is the Director of Development for the Computer Science and Engineering Department at The Ohio State University. Katie founded her private flute studio ten years ago and enjoys having the opportunity each week to help students of all ages find their unique musical voice.

Kelli Lawrence: Kelli is a music educator and oboist in the Columbus, Ohio area. Born and raised in Colorado, she received her bachelor’s degree in Music Education from the University of Northern Colorado. While living in Colorado, Kelli played with the Grand Junction and Longmont Symphony Orchestras, while also beginning her career as an elementary general music teacher. A desire to further her study and performance of the oboe led her to move to Columbus, where she was as a graduate assistant in the oboe studio at The Ohio State University, teaching undergraduate oboe methods courses and private oboe lessons, and performing with the Ohio State Wind Symphony and Symphony Orchestra. She studied under Robert Sorton and completed her master’s degree in oboe performance in 2014.

Kelli now enjoys maintaining a balance of both of her passions, teaching and playing. She has been teaching elementary general music at Deer Run Elementary School in the Dublin City School District for the past 10 years, and performs in the oboe section with the Worthington Chamber Orchestra. Kelli and her husband Andrew have two children, Natalie (6) and Will (4), who keep them busy and entertained. As a family, they love being outdoors, camping, and traveling.

Dr. Evan Lynch: Evan is the affiliate instructor of clarinet at Denison University in Granville, Ohio, and a freelance clarinetist in the central Ohio area. He has performed as a soloist and chamber musician nationally and internationally, including performances in Belgium, China, Israel, Italy, Poland, and The Netherlands. Orchestral playing experience includes performances with the ProMusica Chamber Orchestra (OH), Columbus Symphony Orchestra (OH), Columbus Symphony Orchestra (GA), and he was a finalist for the International Clarinet Association Orchestral Audition Competition.

Dr. Lynch holds a bachelor’s degree in clarinet performance from Arizona State University, a master’s degree in higher education administration from Auburn University, and a doctorate in clarinet performance from The Ohio State University. His principal clarinet teachers include Caroline Hartig, Robert Spring, David Odom, and Jeremy Reynolds.

Dr. Emily Klepinger: Emily is the principal bassoonist with the New Albany Symphony Orchestra and is in the bassoon sections of the Newark-Granville Symphony Orchestra and the Worthington Chamber Orchestra. In addition to performing, she maintains a private studio of middle and high school students in Grove City.  Her students have been members of OMEA All-State ensembles, the Columbus Symphony Youth Orchestras, the Columbus Youth Symphonic Band, regional orchestras, and honors bands, and are frequently accepted into university music programs. She studied bassoon performance at The Ohio State University where her primary teachers were Karen Pierson, former Houston Symphony bassoonist, and Christopher Weait, former Toronto Symphony bassoonist.

During the day, you will find her advising undergraduate music majors at Ohio State, and in her free time, she enjoys spending time with her physicist husband, Alexander, their son, Phoenix, and their furbabies, Yennefer the dog and Locrian and Dorian, their cats, along with hosting board game nights and playing Skyrim.

Mitchell McCrady: Mitchell is a native of Sugar Grove, Ohio, who discovered his passion for music at the age of ten. A talented horn player, Mitchell honed his skills through rigorous training, studying music performance at the University of Dayton and Indiana University. His musical journey was significantly shaped by his esteemed teachers, Jeff Nelsen, Dr. Richard Chenoweth, and C. Scott Smith.

Upon completing his studies at Indiana University in 2015, Mitchell relocated to Columbus, where he has continued to build an impressive career and collaborate with other high-level musicians. He performs regularly with the Central Ohio Symphony, New Albany Symphony, Newark-Granville Symphony Orchestra, and Worthington Chamber Orchestra. In addition to these groups, Mitchell has also played with the Westerville Symphony, Lima Symphony, Springfield Symphony, and Ohio Valley Symphony.

He is especially excited to be performing with the Lancaster Festival for the first time this summer and starting new projects with the OH5O Wind Quintet.
